Kit Preview : 1/76 Cromwell Combat Ready JSU-122
About the manufacturer
Cromwell now focuses on 1/76 and 1/72 Combat ready models which combine a reduced count of parts and a good level of detail. Older kit type models are still available, mostly on Ebay. I find Cromwell castings to be among the best on the market.

About the kit
The model is beautiful. It needs 6 grab handles in place of the 4 that are molded on the hull side. The suspension has some casting imperfections that need corrected. The last picture shows it next to the Fujimi JS-2. The engine decks are very different where they should be identical. I suspect Cromwell has it right. If you compare the roadwheels, the ones from the Fujimi JS-2 are substantially smaller.
Here are some pictures of the almost completed model. I'm having issues with the flat coat. The Polly S diluted with water had no effect despite multiple sprayed coats (close to 10 I believe). I had the idea to use Future mixed in as liquid medium and bam! The tank comes out looking like it had just been snowed on! I then used a brush dipped in enamel thinner to remove the varnish and ended up with an almost flat model. I am pondering my next move and have since painted the light aluminum.
