Kit Preview : 1/76 MMS Citroen type 23 1.5t truck(kit #012)
About the manufacturer
MMS is the leading 1/76 white metal model brand. The quality of casting and level of detail are comparable to traditional plastic kits, albeit without etched metal detailing. Smaller details such as mirrors are often omitted , and the running gear of tracked vehicles is usually a simplified one piece casting where the guide teeth are backed by a solid metal strengthening strip.
Due to the tight packaging in unprotected plastic bags, parts often come bent or one might say, with pre-built battle damage. Care must be taken to straighten things out lest parts be broken.

About the kit
This is a very nice little model of the troop transport version of the Citroen 23. Extra care will be necessary to join the cab top without leaving a gap or a seam. The steering wheel’s hub should be level with the bottom of the windshield. It needs repositioning. The stick shift and handbrake are missing as well as the unidentified lever sticking out the steering column on the right side. A nice touch is the Notek light. A lot of captured French trucks went to Russia in 1941. Undoubtedly, most never returned to the West. It's great to see Barry at MMS release French and Italian vehicles. It is pretty much an untapped market in 1/76.
My main (if not sole) source for French 1940 vehicles, Vauvilliers' "L'Automobile sous l'Uniforme", shows this truck in olive green with sand blotches outlined in brown. This scheme is described as the standard finish for Citroen vehicles.
